Fort Morgan, Alabama Surf Fishing continues to pay off big for some that are prepared and go at the right time on the Fort Morgan Point next to Dixey Bar. Not only is it important to pick your timing by the falling tide but selecting your bait correctly will magnify your chances to landing a big Bull Red, Jack and sharks. If these are the species your after think big bait! I recommend cut mullet, large pogy, large croaker, ground mullet and even big Blue Crabs. If you have no way to get these fish live by means of cast net you can get finger mullet from Walmart. If your really looking to get good bait and cant find it, go to Safe Harbor Seafood in Bon Secour and purchase some whole mullet. They may even have other good whole fish you can use to land some really good fish. If you use a large mullet, I recommend cutting it into 3 to 4 sections and if your using finger mullet use the whole fish. Blue crabs are very good but a little expensive to use as bait.
